Perception of the surrounding reality always depends on the point of view. This object, Point, is a literal illustration of this statement. Depending on the angle, or point, from which it is viewed, observers will see different images. From the side one sees only a black screen. From a distance one sees the general outline of the installation. From close up one sees the smaller details, but independent of the entire composition. In this work, the artists contemplate the process of knowing: a wide view is equivalent to superficial knowledge of many phenomena, while profound immersion into one discipline is likened to the ‘narrow’ point of view.
